Natural woods may vary in color, characteristics and exhibit changes as they age. For example, face frames and doors may eventually have visible cracking around the joint area and cabinet colors may darken or lighten over time. Sunlight, smoke, household cleaners and other environmental conditions may also affect the color match over time. Ultraviolet light rays in natural sunlight may affect the appearance of your cabinets. Gossling Woodworking finishes contain UV inhibitors. The appearance may change, depending on its natural characteristics, the amount and direction of light exposure, and the portion of the cabinet that receives light.
Wood is prone to expansion and contraction as seasonal temperature and humidity changes occur in a home. Indoor humidity levels less than 30% is too dry. Relative humidity of 40-50%, at a temperature of 68° to 72° is ideal. Low humidity causes wall paneling, wood trim, doors, and hardwood flooring to shrink and cause joints to open. Warping is the twisting or bending of a part. The standard allowable tolerance for wood is 1/8″ per lineal foot. Materials that fall within specifications are considered acceptable, as a part of the natural characteristics of wood, and not reason for replacement.
Any warping that takes place after the first 180 days from the time of purchase will not be deemed as warrantable. A climate controlled environment is necessary to reduce the possibility of wood movement in your home.
These variations are considered to be the nature of the material in relation to their environmental exposure and are not covered under this warranty. This warranty does not apply to products purchased without a finish.
